The Hague-based company, SUPPLYZ, announced on Monday, November 7, that it has changed its brand name to RESONIKS.

The origin of the brand name “RESONIKS” stems from the combination of “resonance” and “Akustik” (the German term for acoustics).

The name echoes its commitment to harnessing the unique acoustic elements inherent in its sensor solutions, claims the company.

Besides rebranding, the Dutch company also announced that it has secured €1.5M in a seed round of funding led by Kvanted, a prominent Nordic industrial tech investor.

RESONIKS: Advanced acoustic inspection technology

Founded by Felix Wassmann (CEO), Fabian Oberndorfer (CTO), and Isaac Kargar (CIO), RESONIKS aims to redefine the quality control processes.

Harnessing acoustics and AI, RESONIKS detects metal component anomalies by resonating objects and analysing their acoustic response.

The company’s system includes a sensor unit, a proprietary data conversion unit, and a computing unit with a human interface.

By introducing specific vibrations and analyzing the acoustic response, the platform can detect defects such as cracks and weld imperfections.

The company automates monotonous and potentially hazardous inspections to address the global shortage of skilled labour while ensuring products meet stringent quality standards.

Focusing on key sectors such as automotive and maritime, RESONIKS identifies defects invisible to the human or machine eye, reducing waste, saving energy, and promoting sustainable metal recycling.

The investor

Based out of Helsinki, Kvanted is an early-stage investor focusing on industrial technology. The VC focuses on early-stage companies developing new software, hardware, and service solutions for the industrial sector with a mission to build a more sustainable future.

With its first fund of €70M, Kvanted is the first pure-play industrial technology investor in the Nordic region.

The founding partners of Kvanted are Eerik Paasikivi, Maria Wasastjerna, and Axel Ahlström.

“RESONIKS is a prime example of an industrial technology company that is reinventing heavy processes to create a more efficient and sustainable industrial value chain. We are excited to have the opportunity to support the RESONIKS team as they establish new standards for quality control. The team’s dedication to efficiency and sustainability perfectly aligns with our mission at Kvanted,” says Axel Ahlström, founding partner of Kvanted.
