Finland-based Epicbrief, a startup on a mission to make human work in sales more meaningful and valuable, announced on Monday that it has raised €1M in a pre-Seed round of funding.
The Finnish startup provides an AI-powered platform that improves the sales process and automates administrative work for sales people.
Investors in this round
The round was led by Amsterdam-based venture capital firm Curiosity with participation from Finnish investor Superhero Capital, and an angel investor.
Curiosity, which is focused on early-stage investments in software companies in the Benelux, Nordics, and Baltics, claims to be building the next generation of AI applications.
Herman Kienhuis, Managing Partner at Curiosity, says, “We are incredibly excited to join forces with Epicbrief on their mission to redefine the sales workflow. Their founders’ deep understanding of sales challenges, combined with the groundbreaking potential of new generative AI technologies, positions them well to support sales teams in transforming their work and boosting their performance.”
Revolutionising the work of sales professionals
Epicbrief says sales teams have experienced ongoing difficulties over the past 20 years. The majority of sales teams achieve less than 50 per cent of their quotas and most sales people have tenures of less than two years, contributing to high turnover rates.
On average, sales reps spend 70 per cent of their time on administrative chores while the current economic crisis has simply raised the bar for them and their managers.
This is where Epicbrief aims to make a difference.
Founded in 2022 by Miro Putkonen, Pyry Takala, and Anton Dobrzhanskiy, Epicbrief, with its AI-based solution, automates many administrative tasks sales reps face daily.
The startup claims that sales teams can now focus on more important duties and increase productivity by using its technology to convert sales discussions into concise, objective summaries in a matter of seconds.
CRM data can also be automatically filled up thanks to Epicbrief, which has integration with various video conferencing programmes and CRM platforms. Sales professionals can collect, examine, and use meeting data using this tool to decide what to do next.
Miro Putkonen says, “We believe that AI presents a massive opportunity to completely transform the work of sales professionals. By automating administrative tasks, we’re enabling them to focus on what really matters: building relationships, closing deals, and achieving their quotas.”
“As a start, we focus on automating sales call summaries and action plans and provide easy-to-use tools for collaboration and communication to make sales organisations more productive and make better-informed decisions.”
“In the long term, we’re looking to expand towards automation across the whole sales workflow,” adds Putkonen.
Capital utilisation
Epicbrief claims that a small number of top-performing sales professionals, who were chosen to take part in the beta programme, are now using the Epicbrief platform.
The raised capital will be used by the startup to aggressively grow its user base in the next months while continually improving its platform based on user input.
