Jyväskylä-based Aisti, a Finnish technology company specialising in innovative acoustic tiles made from renewable wood fibres, has raised €29M in its Series A funding round.
The round attracted early-stage investors such as Voima Ventures, Maki.vc, and the Valve Ventures consortium, along with private investors.
It also included non-equity financing, including a €5M loan from Norion Bank, a €7M public grant from the South Savo ELY Centre, and an €8.5M capital loan from the Finnish Climate Fund. Finnvera also supported the round.
Pirkka Palomäki, Partner at Maki.vc, says, “We are proud to support Aisti in its mission to revolutionise acoustic solutions with sustainable, high-performance materials. This funding milestone marks not only the start of an exciting growth phase but also a transformative step for the construction industry as a whole.”
Natural acoustics from wood fibre
Founded in 2019 by Mikko Paananen, Antti Fredrikson and Petri Jetsu, Aisti has developed Aisti Teno, an innovative acoustic tile made from wood fibres.
The company is progressing toward delivering high-performance, cost-effective wood-fiber-based acoustic materials to the construction industry. Free from plastic binders and irritating fibres, these materials offer recyclability, user-friendliness, and a natural alternative that maintains both technical performance and affordability.
Antti uses a foam-forming process to create natural acoustic materials from wood fibre. This method transforms lignocellulosic fibres into highly porous and lightweight tiles suitable for modern construction.
The tiles offer a renewable alternative to mineral wool and can also be used in thermal insulation, packaging, and composites. Aisti has been granted a material patent for its technology.
“With Aisti’s technology, we’re finally introducing a cutting-edge, cost-effective acoustic solution for the construction industry. Playing a pivotal role in modern construction, our tiles set new standards for how advanced, natural materials can enhance both performance and design,” says Mikko Paananen, CEO and founder of Aisti.
To date, Aisti has secured €32M to support its mission of reducing the construction industry’s carbon footprint. The company’s innovative acoustic tiles provide a sustainable solution to meet growing customer demand in building practices.
Capital utilisation
The funds will be used to build Aisti’s first commercial factory in Kitee, Finland, supporting the launch of Aisti Teno acoustic tiles. The new facility will have an initial production capacity of 2.5 million square meters annually.
CEO and founder Paananen says, “This funding allows us to move forward with constructing the Kitee factory, which enables our long-term commercial plans. We aim to first serve the Nordic market, meeting the growing demand for more natural building solutions in the region.”
“We’re thrilled to have strong support from investors and other partners as we embark on this next growth phase and bring our product to market.”
Aisti’s acoustic tiles are expected to be available in the second half of 2026. The company has signed off-take agreements with a total annual value of €6.8M, representing 3 per cent of the Nordic acoustic tiles market.
