Rennes, France-based Ochy, a real-time biomechanics assessment tool, announced that it has secured €1.7M in a pre-seed fundraising round led by Redstone’s Social Impact Fund.
Other investors, including Look AI Ventures, BPI France, Berkeley SkyDeck, and strategic corporate investors, including Agile Physical Therapy, participated.
The French company will use the funds to accelerate its next phase of growth, allowing the company to enhance its computer vision AI technology, expand its global reach, and strengthen its community-driven initiatives.
Additionally, Ochy has been integrated within the adiClub program, the adidas loyalty program, under the partner offers section.
adiClub members can now redeem their points for free access to Ochy.
This enables them to utilise advanced biomechanics analysis and tailored insights designed to enhance their running performance and reduce the risk of injury.
“We’re excited to partner with Ochy to offer our members exclusive access to their cutting-edge biomechanics analysis. By redeeming their adiClub points, members can try Ochy’s technology through a one-shot offer and enjoy 3-month access, enhancing their running performance and increasing their engagement with our community,” says Javier Arias, Global Director of Membership Partnerships at adidas.
Ochy: Helping people to move efficiently
Founded in 2021 by Khaldon Evans, Perrine Chapot, and Victor Dequidt, Ochy has developed proprietary computer vision AI to analyse running gait in real-time using a smartphone camera — no special equipment needed.
The trio created the Ochy platform after Khaldon’s NCAA track career at the University of Central Missouri ended because of repeated injuries.
These injuries resulted from bad running form, which could have been fixed with easier access to gait analysis.
Their goal was to support and empower athletes around the world.
By recording a 10-second running video, the company measures key biomechanical metrics such as stride length and joint angles, delivering a personalised analysis that highlights an individual’s strengths and areas for improvement.
Based on this analysis, the company provides a tailored exercise plan to help you run more efficiently, lower your injury risk, and boost your overall performance.
“These key developments bring us closer to our vision of democratizing access to motion analysis and making lab-quality running gait analysis accessible to everyone, everywhere,” says Khaldon Evans, Co-founder and CEO of Ochy.
“With our innovative AI solution, a partnership with an iconic global brand like adidas, and the support of forward-thinking investors, we are laying a foundation to help runners achieve their goals and reduce injuries by equipping them—as well as coaches, physios, and running stores—with AI running form analysis technology,” adds Evans.
