Paris-based legal technology app startup Call A Lawyer has announced that it has raised โ‚ฌ500,000 in its first-ever funding round. The startup has a mobile app, which connectslegal counselers to users and vice versa.

Connects lawyers to clients instantly

Founded in 2016 by a practising lawyer, Call A Lawyer is Franceโ€™s first-of-its-kind mobile app that swiftly connects users to lawyers for an initial telephonic consultation for a span of 20 minutes.

The mobile app enables private individuals, and lately, businesses as well, to link up with a network of more than 500 lawyers from all over France, specialising in every area of legal expertise.

SMEs, entrepreneurs, new targets

The funding will be used d to commercialise Call A Lawyerโ€™s B2B offering for entrepreneurs, artisans and startups as well as small and medium enterprises.

The startup enabled its mobile app for businesses from February 1, 2019, onwards. It has two types of subscription models, which have been tailored according to the requirements of the companies. The legal tech startup has placed emphasis on the development of professional clients, such as small and medium enterprises, which represent a massive market of 4 million firms in France. ย

Commenting on the development, co-founder of Call A Lawyer, Mathieu Davy stated, โ€œWe realised how difficult it can be for private individuals and professionals to obtain legal advice and find the right lawyer. This round of fundraising will allow us to focus on very small and small businesses, helping them make the right matches with lawyers to ensure they are receiving the best advice and assistance for their needs.โ€

Expansion plans ahead!

In 2019, the French legal technology startup reportedly has projected its aims to develop its services abroad, specifically in French-speaking countries such as Cรดte dโ€™Ivoire, which is considered as a developed market.

Moreover, the French startup is currently conducting negotiations regarding partnership in Belgium, Switzerland, Spain and Portugal. Regarding the future plans, Mathieu concluded by saying,, โ€œOur goal is to launch in two countries per year.โ€
