Munich-based Predium, a platform for Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management solutions for the real estate and finance industries, has raised €13M in a Series A round of funding.
Norrsken VC, part of Klarna founder Niklas Adalberth’s Norrsken Foundation, has led the funding round for Predium, supporting its goal of decarbonising the real estate industry in a cost-effective way.
Existing investors UVC Partners, b2venture, and Mutschler Ventures also participated in this investment.
Agate Freimane, General Partner at Norrsken VC, says, “Real estate is experiencing a transformative shift as the need to decarbonise becomes urgent. We were drawn to Predium’s approach of partnering with real estate owners and operators to enable intelligent, data-driven decisions that both enhance asset value and promote sustainability. We are thrilled to support Predium on this impactful journey.”
A platform for sustainable and profitable real estate management
Predium mentions in a statement that the real estate industry faces growing regulatory and market pressures, including the EU’s 2050 climate-neutral building goal and rising interest rates, which are impacting property values.
Investors, banks, and owners are demanding transparency in sustainability and financial performance, as non-ESG-compliant buildings lose value. This is where Predium looks to make a difference.
The company addresses these challenges by analysing existing data, and enriching it with AI, satellite images, and 3D models. It provides users with key ESG metrics, financial indicators, and renovation priorities, helping clients assess risks and optimise decisions about property purchases, renovations, or sales.
Founded in 2021 by Jens Thumm, Mohamed Ali Razouane and Maximilian Körner, Predium’s clients include Deutsche Investment Group, Colliers, and Baloise, among others.
Capital utilisation
The funding will help Predium enhance its software platform and expand into new markets.
Jens Thumm, Predium’s CEO and co-founder, says, “With Predium, we offer a solution that brings together ESG requirements, such as CSRD reporting, and economic interests. We enable our clients to make smart transaction and renovation decisions. In this way, real estate values can be increased.”
“The interest shown by a large number of well-known investors confirms that Predium is successfully driving the transformation of the real estate sector,” adds Thumm.
