A “state-of-the-art” business campus in Luxembourg, HE:AL Campus, is seeking €250M in investments. The expansion plan involves establishing a presence at the heart of a healthcare hub, accommodating around 400 health technology companies.
Positioned in the tri-country region bordering France and Germany, the campus strives to foster innovation and collaboration in the healthtech sector.
Creating healthcare solutions
Founded in 2022, HE:AL Campus is a healthtech accelerator and Living Lab that integrates physical and digital spaces to propel the advancement of digital health and healthtech startups.
Emphasising diagnostics, preventative medicine, and data-driven therapies, the campus supports mature eHealth companies in areas like digital health, AI, deep learning, and predictive analytics.
Aligned with its surroundings and committed to sustainability, the campus aims to foster positive impacts, biodiversity, and a healthy environment.

House of BioHealth
The initial phase of HE:AL Campus, the House of BioHealth, hosts notable companies including Siemens Healthineers, Flen Health, B Medical Systems, LLUCS, Probiotic Group, and startups like NIUM, Organitherapeutics, and Tolerogenics.
Adjacent to Luxembourg’s future main hospital, Südspidol – set to open in 2030 with nearly 600 beds, the campus strategically positions itself within the healthcare ecosystem.
Companies at HE:AL Campus enjoy proximity to the University of Luxembourg, where Medicine & Health ranks among its top three research priorities.
Additionally, they benefit from close ties with the Luxembourg Centre for Systems BioMedicine, fostering collaboration between systems biology and medical research to enhance understanding of pathogenesis and advanced tools in diagnostics and therapy.
Luxembourg’s Ministry of Health and Ministry of Economics collaborate to boost cooperation among HE:AL Campus users, the University of Luxembourg, and the national healthcare system, aiming to establish a critical mass in health tech and position the country as a European hub for innovative medicine.
Companies benefit from public aid for R&D, including the Fit4Start accelerator programme.
The House of BioHealth, with €70M invested, features 12,000 sqm of lab infrastructure, a 300 sqm Startup Incubator lab, and 8,000 sqm of office space.
Seeking an additional €250M for two upcoming phases in 2025, the campus emphasises sustainable construction, leveraging local buildings with a nod to the region’s prowess in repurposing industrial sites.
Commercialisation strategy
HE:AL Campus also announced the official launch of its commercialisation strategy at MEDICA, the medical industry trade fair in Düsseldorf. This strategy is designed to provide support to companies navigating the path from concept to market.
The initiative creates an environment where ideas evolve into tangible real-world solutions. The launch activities kick off at the House of Biohealth, the campus’s inaugural operational building.
