Munich-based Reactive Robotics, a healthcare startup specialising in AI and robot-assisted mobilisation for hospitals and care settings, announced that it secured an additional €5M in funding.
The investment came from investors including Dr. Doll, TQ-Group, Henrik Schunk, Stephan Huber, and the EIC Fund.
Dr. Theo Doll says, “We firmly believe in Reactive Robotics’ potential to revolutionise the healthcare industry. The combination of innovative technology and the dedicated team makes the company a promising player in the field of medical robotics.”
This funding follows a €2.5M grant from the European Innovation Council in 2023 for R&D efforts.
What does Reactive Robotics offer?
Founded in 2015, Reactive Robotics is a healthcare startup focused on transforming healthcare by integrating advanced technology with medical expertise. Its mission is to improve lives through innovative products and solutions for the healthcare industry.
The company’s assistive robotic system, VEMOTION, has already mobilised over 5,000 seriously ill and intensive care patients, helping faster recovery and reducing the physical strain on nursing and therapy staff, especially with patients up to 180 kg.
The system addresses staff shortages and supports hospital management in easing workloads, implementing S3 guidelines on patient mobilisation, and achieving rapid ROI.
In the future, as the number of cases increases, VEMOTION will provide practitioners with enhanced support through data-driven insights.
Capital utilisation
The funds will help Reactive Robotics advance the development of its AI-supported robotic assistance system, VEMOTION, designed for patients, caregivers, therapists, and physicians.
The startup will also continue its targeted national and international market expansion.
Brigitte Schrätzenstaller, MD of Reactive Robotics, says, “We are thrilled by the trust that our investors have placed in us. This financing round is a significant step for Reactive Robotics and enables us to realise our vision of improved and efficient patient care and reducing the burden on staff.”
Maximilian Große-Dunker, MD and COO of Reactive Robotics adds, “With additional resources, we will consistently pursue our adopted data strategy and internationalisation.”
