Last update:

Swedish tech company Husqvarna, which aims to become a global leader of outdoor power products for forest, park and garden care has recently unveiled an AI-powered all-wheel drive robotic lawn mower which can be synced to Amazon Alexa or Google Home.

Launched at one of the biggest tech conferences taking place in Barcelona right now – Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 – the flagship product comes dubbed as Husqvarna Automower 435X AWD.

So how does it work?

The new AI Enabled Robotic Mower with AWD by Stockholm-based startup is capable of moving on rough and steep terrains with an inclination up to 70%.

With an open API for advanced tailored programming, the Husqvarna Automower 435X AWD, and all other Husqvarna robotic mowers with Husqvarna Automower Connect, will be able to use voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Home by spring 2019.

Safety at par

In addition to the built-in safety feature that automatically stops the mower if it is lifted up or turned over, Husqvarna Automower 435X AWD is also equipped with several new features to increase safety. With Ultrasonic, a remote object detection feature, Husqvarna Automower 435X AWD reduces its speed as soon as it senses a nearby object.

Olle Markusson, Director Product Management at Husqvarna stated, “Husqvarna Automower 435X AWD sets a new standard for robotic mowers, combining a perfect cut in ‘impossible gardens’ with multiple product interactions, including conversational AI for Amazon Alexa and Google Home integration.”

Husqvarna Automower 435X AWD is expected to come in the US market in 2020 with a tentative price around $5,500.

Husqvarna Group manufactures a variety of products including chainsaws, garden watering devices, trimmers, robotic lawn mowers and ride-on lawn mowers. Besides, it produces diamond tools for stone cutting and construction industries.

With 13,000+ employees in 40 countries, Husqvarna sells its products in more than 100 countries. The company achieved net sales amounting to SEK 41bn in the year 2018 itself. The group offers multiple ranges of brands including Husqvarna, Gardena, McCulloch, Poulan Pro, Weed Eater, Flymo, Zenoah and Diamant Boart.
