Job van Hooijdonk, the co-founder of Regreener, on Wednesday announced that he has stepped down from his position as director at the company.

“After 3.5 years of putting my heart and soul into the company, I noticed that my job satisfaction and motivation were rapidly decreasing,” says Hooijdonk in a LinkedIn post.

Van Hooijdonk says he feels most suited for the initial startup phase and recognised his inability to continue giving 100 per cent effort daily, which he views as essential for advancing a young company to the next level.

“Staying put didn’t feel fair to my business partner, the employees, investors, brand ambassadors, customers, and other people involved. That’s why I took the plunge and said goodbye. I remain involved in the company in the background, but no longer in an executive role,” he adds.

However, he will maintain involvement in the company but will no longer hold an executive position.

Van Hooijdonk also mentioned that despite receiving offers to join as a co-founder in other ventures, he has chosen not to pursue a new startup opportunity at this time. Instead, he will be involved in advising startups through his own company, YJ Green Ventures.

In addition to his involvement with startups, van Hooijdonk has revealed that he has taken on the role of Consultant at Voxius, a company specializing in executive search, interim solutions, and strategy & operations consulting for Legal and Compliance.

Regreener: Restoring ecosystems

Founded by Job van Hooijdonk and Bernard de Wit, Regreener aims to restore ecosystems in an impactful and transparent way by planting trees and supports certified carbon offsetting projects on behalf of its users.

Currently, the company plants trees with its partners Eden Reforestation Projects and WeForest in Kenya, Mozambique, and Zambia.

By offering subscriptions and one-off contributions to individuals and companies, Regreener has created a complete platform to plant trees and fund CO2-reducing initiatives.
