There’s no denying that Artificial Intelligence is one of the emerging tech trends, London-based Trint leverages the same to unlock the power of speech. It is a speech-to-text platform that makes any audio and video searchable, shareable, and editable. At the time of its debut, Trint was the world’s first platform to leverage speech-to-text for audio, video and text content production.
Announcing Series A funding round
In a recent development, Trint has announced its Series A acceleration round led by The New York Times Company. This new funding includes additional investment from both existing and new individual private investors. Previously, this company has raised institutional investment from TechNexus and Associated Press in the Series A round in 2019, wherein it secured $4.5 million (nearly €3.8 million) and an early funding from The Knight Foundation.
It has also been announced that Trint will be deployed to journalists across The New York Times. This announcement is a part of a separate agreement.
Trint intends to leverage the latest investment to drive product innovation and create world-leading content production solutions for clients involved in creating audio, video, and text. They will use the investment to accelerate hiring, their growth is evident, as they have grown by 50% this year despite the pandemic crisis.
“Trint has already struck a chord with thousands of users looking to work seamlessly across audio, video and text,” said Matthew Lloyd-Thomas, Senior Manager of M&A and Investments at The New York Times Company. “Audio and video are increasingly important mediums, and we’re excited to see Trint play a leading role in this evolving ecosystem.”
“It’s both humbling and exciting to have the most respected name in journalism join us. As a software tool for storytellers there couldn’t be a better match,” said Jeff Kofman, CEO and Founder. “We understand the need to find more efficient ways to work seamlessly across text, audio and video, and so does The New York Times Company. We’re excited to have The Times Company working with us as we define the new tools of the future for individuals and enterprise.”
