Meet ALTIDO! Effort of four European short-term rental brands to take down mighty Airbnb

Last update:

Property management platforms like Airbnb and Booking.com have gone beyond the mainstream, providing travelers with plenty of alternatives to the traditional hotel experience, at substantially lower prices. Having said that, if you are staying in a different region, it allows you to experience a slice of cultural immersion as well.

While Airbnb has been dominating this segment for a while, there are other options when it comes to finding your perfect vacation accommodation. In a recent development, four European short-term rental property management companies have teamed up to create a new company called ALTIDO.

The founding companies are – The London Residents Club (U.K), BNBbuddy (U.K), Hintown (Italy) and Rent Experience (Portugal). At present, the company is headquartered in London with remote offices Lisbon, Milan, Edinburgh and Rome.

Davide Ravalli, the co-founder of ALTIDO and CEO of Hintown, said:

We are very excited to be combining forces with the other three companies. Between us, we represent a unique route to market with a vision to be a pioneer in the global hospitality industry. Our core focus is on quality for both guests and owners; offering a design-led portfolio of short-term rentals with hotel standard services to match.

Furthermore, all four companies were profitable ahead of the merger. According to Michael Allen, Managing director of BNBuddy, ALTIDO is looking out for Series A funding around 10 million dollars to expand aggressively in the European market.

On the other hand, the company has around 1,700 properties located in 21 European locations combined. The team on the ground will take care of owner relations, cleaning and maintenance, 24/7 guest communications and heightened guest experience. Moreover, ALTIDO portfolio includes a diverse range of distinctive private rentals, serviced apartments, apart-hotels and guesthouses.

Apart from Airbnb and ALTIDO, here are some other companies you may want to check out when looking to rent a holiday home in Europe.
