Last update:

Recently, the Redmond giant Microsoft has joined hands with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to develop coronavirus self-checker to help people to determine whether they should go to the hospital or not when they feel sick.

Built on Microsoft’s artificial intelligence-powered healthcare bot service, the chat tool asks a series of questions about users’ location, age, and symptoms they are going through.

Upon analysing, it offers advice on whether the user needs to go out or not. However, the tool, as of now, works only with the US, and it’s not meant to diagnose or treats the new coronavirus

CDC’s site advises:

“If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and develop a fever and symptoms, such as cough or difficulty breathing, call your healthcare provider for medical advice.”

It’s worth mentioning that dry cough, fever, and difficulty in breathing are the three significant symptoms frequently reported by patients who have diagnosed with COVID-19.
