After two successful Amsterdam editions, the Capital Tour XXL will wheel into Rotterdam for the first time on March 15th. During this bike tour, groups of founders will leisurely ride through the city meeting investors. They get the chance to ask the investors all kind of questions. Who knows, maybe there’ll be the opportunity to throw in a quick pitch here or there.

Emphasis on Angels

Capital Tour XXL is an initiative created by Professional Rebel. They are organising the First Rotterdam edition of Capital Tour XXL in cooperation with Venture Cafe Rotterdam. Just like in Amsterdam there will be VCs, Corporate Ventures and Business Angels opening their doors to founders. This third Capital Tour XXL will specifically focus on connecting angel investors with startups, as this type of investors still seems a bit fuzzy for a lot of founders.

Come along for the ride

Tickets are not yet on sale but you can sign up to get notified here. Founders that come along for the ride can indicate their top 3 of the cooperating investors they would like to meet. They will get a guaranteed meeting with at least one of them. It is recommendable to take your own bike but Capital Tour XXL promises there will be some surprise vehicles as well. Venture Cafe will also host a side program with more details to be announced soon.

Dutch Courage and Pitching

So basically you get to meet investors and learn from them, while at the same time mingling with fellow founders. It is a great networking opportunity and especially if the weather is good it should be fun. To give you an idea of the diverse range of companies you get to meet in one single day: Silicon Canals joined last September and we were paired up with, among others, Malaria-preventing startup Momala,  3D scanner startup Th3rd, art collectors platform Vpatina, search engine Get1,2.com, laptop design shop Uncover and taxi wifi startup Cabture.  Together we attended insightful presentations from Cottonwood Technology and ING Innovations. Last year there was the opportunity to have drinks afterwards, and there was also the option to hold pitches for founders once they gathered some Dutch courage. We trust it should be just as eventful in Rotterdam on March 15th.
