Appointed new CEO!

Recently, the Amsterdam-based startup appointed Niek van Leeuwen as Chief Executive Officer with effect from 17 August. Van Leeuwen, who previously worked for Heineken and Uber, will succeed Paul Eggink as CEO. Eggink remains involved as an advisor.

Paul Eggink, the co-founder of Temper, said, “I look back on the past five years with great pleasure and I am extremely proud of what we have achieved with Temper. After approximately 5 years, Temper also enters a new phase of growth and further professionalization. Niek has proven himself at some of the world’s most successful companies. With his background, he is the right person to lead Temper in this next phase. On behalf of Temper, we warmly welcome Niek van Leeuwen and wish him every success with this great challenge”

Held various international management positions

Notably, Van Leeuwen started his career at Heineken in 2007, after which he held various international management positions within the brewer’s portfolio. In 2012, van Leeuwen was appointed as one of the first senior employees of Uber in Europe. In his final role, van Leeuwen was responsible for all of Uber’s activities in the Benelux, Scandinavia and the Baltics.

Niek van Leeuwen: “It is an honor to join Temper and to be able to make a positive contribution to the future of the labor market. I’m very eager to start working with all the talented people at Temper and jointly shape the future of work”.

New flexible way to work

Founded in 2016, Temper offers a new way of flexible work in which everyone has the opportunity to be their own boss. To date, more than 10,000 companies already work with Temper, such as DeLaMar Theater, Kurhaus, and DHL. More than 100,000 FreeFlexers have now registered on the platform.
