If you have either been a landlord or a tenant, then you would know that housing can be really stressful, time-consuming, and complicated. While owners face it tough to decide the rent they should charge and understand the legislative changes, tenants will face poor customer experience and lack of transparency.
Berlin-based Home founded by Thilo Konzok and Moritz von Hase in 2016 aims to resolve these housing-related challenges and making the housing market more transparent and fairer for everyone involved in it. Home acts as both the landlord and the tenant.
Secures €11M funding
Home has secured €11 million Series A funding from Capnamic, EQT Ventures, Redalpine, and FJ Labs. The company will use this investment to increase product innovation to provide a better experience for tenants. Also, it will use the same to expand the company and take it to new cities.
Every month over 1,100 landlords request an offer using this app. To accept all these requests, the housing startup has to expand into new cities. Already, Home expanded to Munich and Hamburg and will enter ten more German cities and launch its international presence in 2020.
Works with a companion app!
Berlin-based Home works with a companion app. It lets owners sign a contract in the Home app under 30 minutes and receive the rent. Using the data-based evaluations, Home helps owners find tenants. Also, it creates a new housing experience for tenants as they can view and move into apartments simply by using the app.
“Housing is one of the most complex problems our cities face and housing needs both parties – those who own properties and those who live in them. That said, the two groups’ interests are not always aligned,” said Thilo Konzok, founder and CEO at Home. “Home exists to bring tenants and landlords together, becoming the ideal tenant for landlords and the ideal landlord to tenants. By doing this, we empower more people to own real estate and enable more tenants to find a home they really love. This latest round of investment will help us to serve more landlords in more cities and significantly improve the tenant experience, enabling us to build the first housing brand that both tenants and landlords love. ”
