Netherlands-based Infra Blocks (part of The Infrastructure Group), a company that focuses on providing the building blocks for IT infrastructure, announced that it has acquired industry partner and hosting provider Serveo.
After the acquisition, Serveo will continue to operate as an independent trade name of Infra Blocks.
What does Serveo offer?
Serveo offers solutions such as dedicated servers, colocation, virtual servers, hosting, and domain registrations. In 2006, the company started as a small Internet Service Provider (ISP). Milan Schinkel founded the company as he wanted to approach things differently than the current ISPs.
And within a couple of years, Serveo claims to quickly develop into a significant player in the ISP market. According to the company, more individual clients, as well as corporate clients, started using its services. Now, Serveo aims to deliver ‘high-quality’ internet services, particularly to the corporate industry in a clear and green way.
Aim of the acquisition
Infra Blocks, which, along with The Infrastructure Group, invests in IT businesses, says this acquisition will further solidify its position in the hosting market. The company also mentions that over the next few years, it will aim to become one of the top players in the Netherlands in the IT infrastructure sector.
In a post translated from Dutch, COO and founder of Infra Blocks, Sjoerd Klein Meulekamp says, “Knowledge, quality and personal attention for the customer. These are also the core values that we stand for. That’s why Serveo is such a good fit for us. We are therefore pleased with this acquisition and we will take Serveo’s services to a higher level.”
After more than 15 years, previous owner Milan Schinkel bids Serveo and the hosting business farewell. He has decided to give all of his attention to the family business, concentrating on a research and development project for circular manufacturing technologies and their application.
Schinkel says, “I am convinced that Infra Blocks takes Serveo to the next level. The Infrastructure Group supports Infra Block in the field of business operations and finances, giving Serveo the opportunity to develop further. Serveo’s customers are in good hands with Sjoerd and his team.
