The Netherlands, home to a vibrant startup and scale-up ecosystem, witnessed a massive cash flow in 2021. Dutch startups and scale-ups raised €4.5B in venture capital in the first three quarters of 2021. Interestingly, more than a third of the startups that raised funding in H1 2021 are from Amsterdam.
According to Techleap.nl, Amsterdam has been rising fast in terms of the overall value of its startup ecosystem over the last decade. Startups founded since 2000 in the city have a combined value of more than $86B (approx €73.5B), up from just $12B (approx €10.2B) in 2015, the third-largest total in Europe.
