DreamFuel Games, a Dutch gaming studio developing a Play to Earn (P2E) game, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $3.6M (approximately €3.5M) from various investors, including Skyvision Capital, Jump Capital, and OKx Blockdream Venture.

Play to Earn or P2E gaming is a platform where users are given a reward for participating in certain blockchain gaming projects, typically in the form of cryptocurrency.

DeFi (Decentralised Finance) and NFT (non-fungible token) elements are used in P2E gaming, allowing users to profit in multiple ways by simply participating in a project.

For example, a user could receive rewards for their in-game achievements, or they could trade their in-game items for other items or currency.

Many games offer free NFTs to get players started, while others will require you to purchase an item or two before you can begin playing.

DreamFuel Games: What you need to know

The idea of DreamFuel Games started in 2020 during a phone call between the founders, Marc Bruinsma and Sander Dijkens, who had been friends since the age of six. Sander developed games early, whereas Marc learned to trade in stocks and crypto.

Together, they gathered a team of 35 people to build the P2E Game – Infinity Skies.

Infinity Skies is a sandbox game where users can build their castle on an island in the sky. This castle will be made from the ground up solely using NFTs as the essential building blocks. All structural components, furniture, decorations, and such will be tradeable NFTs.

DreamFuel Games says that the gameplay revolves around four core elements: build, adventure, socialise, and trade. The ultimate goal is to become the ‘King of Infinity Skies.’

Other players can visit the castle built by the users through the castle lobby, unless it has been set to private.

“When you receive visitors, they can walk around your castle and interact with you, other visitors, and the various amenities you’ve placed down for them to enjoy. Then, upon leaving, visitors can give your castle a prestige point if they enjoyed their stay,” says the company.

DreamFuel Games says the prestige system is central to Infinity Skies because the most lucrative NFT reward system is tied to it.

Based upon prestige points, the top castles will receive incredibly rare rewards at the end of each month, after which the points, and thus the playing field, are reset.

The company launched its native token, $ISKY, for all in-game purchases and transactions. The company said 50,000 tracts of land would be released in early August.

The Dutch company says the NFTs of Infinity Skies are divided into various rarities that are relatively difficult or easy to obtain. From highest to lowest, these rarities are Royal, Astral, Divine, Legendary, Epic, Rare, Uncommon, and Common.
