Recently, Lightspeed, a cloud-based POS system provider announced a tie-up with food delivery services like UberEats and Thuisbezorgd to launch its service ‘Lightspeed Delivery’, powered by Deliverect.

Last year, Lightspeed initiated this service by integrating with Deliveroo, a restaurant food delivery startup. As per the company, meal delivery is becoming more important for hotels and catering operators, but at the same time, it is a time-consuming operational nightmare as well.

Time consuming operational nightmare

To make it understandable, the work of both hotels and catering operators becomes hectic as they often use one or more meal delivery providers. In this case, the orders are registered separately in the systems of the delivery services, and these must be manually transferred to the cash register. This ordinarily requires an extra employee; orders have to be passed on to the kitchen on time, and much more work needs to be done.

Lightspeed Delivery – A great time saver

In the case of Lightspeed Delivery, the orders from Deliveroo, UberEats and Thuisbezorgd can be seen directly on the cash register system, while the error sensitivity disappears and orders are no longer missed. On top of that, the hospitality entrepreneurs can access their total delivery turnover instantly as well.

POS system provider

Based out of Montreal, Canada, Lightspeed is a cloud-based point-of-sale and e-commerce solution for independent companies and is used in more than 100 countries. Lightspeed is the first POS system provider in the Benelux that integrates all important delivery services.

Founded in 2005, Lightspeed employs more than 650 people with worldwide offices in Canada, the US, Europe and Australia. The head office in the Netherlands is located in Amsterdam.

Jerome Laredo, VP EMEA of Lightspeed, said

The introduction of Lightspeed Delivery marks an important step towards our goal: to transform our POS system into a complete management hub for entrepreneurs. This way we support hotel and catering operators to become even more successful because they can offer their guests the most quality service. Since most of the data are now processed in one system, entrepreneurs can gain access to valuable insights about their various sales channels. We are very proud of this.
