While big tech majors like Google and Facebook are already responsible for hiring a lot of new tech crowd in London every year, still there are a lot of tech startups in one of the most bustling city in the world where you can choose to work in, if you want to experience a smaller, challenging and more energetic work scenario. Afterall, UK is the tech unicorn capital of Europe, home to 37 per cent of unicorn companies in Europe, with total valuations of more than $23 billion dollars in total.

Founder: Alexander Asseily, Tania Boler

Funding:  €44.6M

Elvie is a British femtech company developing smarter technology for women. The company’s first product, Elvie Trainer, helps women strengthen the pelvic floor via fun, five-minute workouts. The second device, Elvie Pump is the silent wearable breast pump, which allows new mothers to pump anytime, anywhere. Headquartered in London, it has offices also in New York City.

GoCardless

Founders: Hiroki Takeuchi, Matt Robinson

Funding: €111M

Based out of London, GoCardless is a payment company that makes collecting payments by direct debit easy for everyone. The company processed $10bn in transactions a year and has around 40,000 customers around the world, including the likes of Thomas Cook, TripAdvisor, and the Guardian.

Onfido

Founders: Eamon Jubbawy, Husayn Kassai, Mike Forster, Ruhul Amin

Funding: €101M

Founded in 2012, Onfido is building the new identity standard to assess whether a user’s government-issued ID is genuine and then compares it against their facial biometrics. The company has offices in London, San Francisco, New York, Lisbon, Paris, New Delhi, and Singapore.

Cleo

Founders: Barnaby Hussey-Yeo

Funding: €12.1M

Cleo is an artificial intelligence startup that offers an intelligent assistant to help users in managing their finances. Founded in 2016, the platform now helps over half a million people with their money across the UK, US & Canada.

Flux Systems

Founders: Matty Cusden-Ross, Tom Reay, Veronique Merriam Barbosa

Funding: €8.3M

The company develops a software platform that keeps track of payment receipts by automatically linking them to payment cards. Flux Systems has major partners like Barclaycard, Costa, pod, EAT., Barclays, and Starling Bank. Furthermore, the company store and process data using third party servers located in secure data centers in Europe.

Urban Massage

Founders: Giles Williams, Jack Tang

Funding: €19.9M

Founded in 2014, Urban Massage is an on-demand wellness platform trying to democratise wellness. The company offers on-demand massage, mani-pedi, facial, and osteopathy services via its official app. Customers can book an appointment at home or office anytime from 8 am to 11:30 pm.

ZenCargo

Founders: Alex Hersham, Jan Riethmayer, Richard Fattal

Funding: €21.6M

The company has developed a platform that allows customers to book, manage, and track their international freight. It also uses analytics to drive intelligent supply chain decisions that help their businesses thrive. Zencargo provides ocean, road, air, and rail freight services.

Trussle

Founders: Ishaan Malhi, Jonathan Galore

Funding: €22.9M

Trussle is a free online mortgage broker that works with much-needed transparency. The company has launched a mortgage monitoring service, which continually monitors the market and alerts a customer when money could be saved by switching to another deal.

Revolut

Founders:  Nikolay Storonsky, Vlad Yatsenko

Funding: €309M

Revolut is digital banking that includes a pre-paid debit card, currency exchange, and peer-to-peer payments.  It has developed a platform allowing users to transfer, exchange, and spend money with a multi-currency card that is accepted everywhere. This platform supports spending and ATM withdrawals in 120 currencies.

Monzo

Founders:  Gary Dolman, Jason Bates, Jonas Huckestein, Paul Rippon, Tom Blomfield

Funding: €390M

Monzo is a London-based digital-only bank platform. This platform helps you to manage and spend money across the world without any hassle.
