With the changing times, women entrepreneurs are now strongly embarking on the satisfying path of entrepreneurship. Kylie Jenner has officially become the youngest self-made billionaire at the age of 21, following the footsteps of some of the most famous billionaires in the world, including Mark Zuckerberg and Evan Spiegel, who passed the $1 billion benchmark before age 30.

Based out of Amsterdam, this startup was founded with a single purpose to put an end to the plastic trash ending up in the sea. Founded in 2017,  this Dutch startup creates a barrier to stop the plastics from flowing past, while letting fishes and ships pass through.

Headquartered in Amsterdam, Ligo is a legal services company, that helps businesses save time and money on legal matters. Founded in July 2015, the startup offers legal documents, notarial services, and free phone consultation with lawyers and legal workflows.

Established in 2015, Plugify is the online marketplace for booking live music performances. Headquartered in Amsterdam, this platform enables artists to create a page free of charge and makes visitors easily book a performance with prices which are immediately visible.

Funding raised: €2 million

Based out of Amsterdam, The Next Closet is an online peer-to-peer marketplace in the Netherlands for secondhand designer clothes and accessories. Founded in 2013, the startup focusses specifically to women looking for affordable high-end designer fashion. With The Next Closet, it’s not only possible to sell high-end authentic items, but also allows users to ‘follow’ each other’s closets and share items on social media.

Diane Janknegt

Wizenoze

Founder – Diane Janknegt

Funding raised: €3.1 million

Based out of Amsterdam, Wizenoze was established in 2013 with an aim to create an AI-powered readability analysis engine, helping authors to write materials that are readable by everyone. Developers can easily tap into all the platform’s features via an API on the innovative platform.

Willemijn Schneyder

SwipeGuide

Co-founder – Willemijn Schneyder

Funding raised: €1.3 million

SwipeGuide is a platform to create, publish, share and track interactive and visual step-by-step instructions to a customisable smart app that fits any device. The startup saw the light in December 2015, and since then the softwareis used by various companies around the world to improve user guides, manuals and instructions to reduce downtime and single-use paper waste.

iLost

Founder – Hanneke Stegweg

iLost is an online platform that helps find and report lost items. Based out of Amsterdam, it focuses on simplifying lost and found process and reunite rightful owners. Founded in 2012, iLost has returned over 25,000 items to owners in 53 countries.

Myngle

Founder – Marina Tognetti

Funding raised: €1.89M

Founded in 2007, Myngle is a global language learning school that offers professional one-on-one language tutoring over the web. This platform has a toolkit for synchronous learning, which consists of VoIP in combination with an integrated whiteboard and feedback.
