Based out of Barcelona, Holded, a Business Operating System (BOS) for SMEs has roped in a €6 million Series A round led by Lakestar, with participation from existing early investors Nauta Capital and Seedrocket 4Founders Capital.

For the unknown, Holded is a Business Operating System (BOS) for small and medium businesses to seamlessly manage every aspect of their company from a single platform.

“For us, securing this investment from an international VC such as Lakestar is a strong sign of confidence,” said co-founder Javi Fondevila. “This move from one of the world’s most highly regarded investors, which has invested in disruptive and successful companies such as Facebook, Spotify and AirBnB, shows that we are making an impact on how our SME clients run their businesses.”

Significant increase in user base over 12 months!

Founded by Bernat Ripoll and Javi Fondevila, the company has so far raised €7.8 million in funding. Holded is planning to use this funding to accelerate its growth into international markets, doubling down its team and strengthening its core functionality. Notably, the company has witnessed significant growth in user base from 10,000 to 30,000 in just 12 months.

“After launching Holded, we quickly noticed the virality of our software,” said co-founder Bernat Ripoll. “We never wanted to be just another software company – we wanted to develop a full Business Operating System – addressing the modern needs of modern companies.

Before getting to know about Holded, lets quickly go through what is Business Operating System (BOS) and its benefits.

What is Business Operating System (BOS)?

A Business Operating System is an instrument to ensure work is focused on your organization’s strategic goal and is done in the most efficient way. Since its a custom-built solution, it provides answers to businesses on the ‘why’ (objective), ‘what’ (specific functions) and ‘how’ (procedures).

Benefits of BOS!

With BOS, the organisation would be doing the right things in the right way. As a result, it increases organisation sales, reduces expenses, and saves time, when you manage every element of your business from a single platform. In this case, Holded provides all the tools you need to make better business decisions.

Best-in-class finance application

This Barcelona startup developed a cloud-based suite of apps that’s user-friendly and customisable. The company’s cloud-based platform uses AI to automate administrative tasks and uses data to benchmark performance and provide managers with actionable insights into their business. More than 20.000 companies around the globe are using Holded every day to manage their businesses.

Bernat Ripoll, added, “We provide a platform that addresses the key needs of small businesses, and one that lets users start working straight away from any location, on any device. This is the value we add, as SMEs spend a lot of time searching for and evaluating new software; they then need to migrate their data, and finally integrate with the rest of their applications.”

Offers multiple integration capabilities!

Furthermore, it offers a best-in-class finance application, along with equally powerful apps like CRM, Inventory Management, Project Management and more. In addition, Holded offers multiple integration capabilities, allowing its customers to connect with popular solutions such as Amazon, Paypal, Shopify and others.

Javi Fondevila, said, “We have become the #1 cloud-based solution in Spain in just 24 months, and we now aim to replicate this in other countries while continuing to consolidate the Spanish market, by continuing to add new product features and country-specific integrations.”
