A couple of days back, Uber introduced e-moped in Paris in ties with the e-scooter rental company Cityscoot. Now, the ride-hailing company has started expanding its operation in the Netherlands, offering e-bikes starting from Rotterdam.

Uber bought JUMP last year!

The company offers e-bike through bike-sharing startup JUMP, which was acquired last year. About a year ago, Uber bought a bike-sharing startup JUMP for an undisclosed amount of money. As per the company, the decision to sell JUMP to Uber came as a part of making operations at a large scale in a quicker way.

500 bicycles!

At present, 500 bicycles are available in Rotterdam, and you can recognise the cycle through its bright red house color of JUMP. Users can book the bicycle through the Uber app, and it is pay per minute.

The battery has a range of 40km and must be parked in the heart of Rotterdam. With this move, the ride-sharing company will compete with the Donkey Republic.

Pedal-assist, inbuilt GPS, and more!

The powerful electric bikes are built with a bright front electric light, reliable brakes, and other safety features. According to the company, each bike is fitted with a GPS tracker and can find its location easily through the Uber app.

Notably, it has electric pedal assistance as well as which provides users assistance of up to 15 miles per hour (25km).

How to books a bike?

Step 1: Open your app and select a bike to unlock one

Step 2: Upon choosing the bike, users will get a PIN to unlock a JUMP bike

Step 3: Start your ride

Step 4: After finishing your trip, use the JUMP bike U Lock to lock it up and secure the bike to any public rack

JUMP is already available in more than thirty cities across the globe, and Rotterdam is the tenth city in Europe, including Berlin, London, Rome, Paris, and others.
