Oslo-based Visma, a SaaS startup, announced on Tuesday, November 22, that it has acquired GovTech specialist P8 Software. However, the Norwegian company did not disclose the financial details of the acquisition.  The move is meant to bolster it’s position as a leading software provider for government organisations in the Netherlands.

The announcement comes two weeks after acquiring Datapas to expand its offering in the Dutch education sector.

Based out of Haarlem, Datapas provides solutions for education in the field of planning and controlling, and monitoring educational yield. The Dutch company’s Datapas’ cloud solutions support school boards in drawing up budgets and forecasts, strategic staff planning, and pupil forecasts.

With P8 Software and Datapas, the Norwegian company has acquired over 22 European firms this year.

P8 Software: What you need to know

Founded in 2017, P8 Software provides cloud-based software for managing transactions, relationships, buying and selling processes, and contracts around plots of land and properties.

The company’s cloud solutions currently support water boards, municipalities, provinces, grid managers, nature organisations, and national government organisations.

“We have developed a market-leading system to simplify the administrative complexity combined with a geographical interface. Now that we’re part of Visma, we see great opportunities also to enter new markets related to regulations on public land”, says Eric Heersink, founder and managing director of P8.

Visma: What do you need to know

Visma offers a suite of business software products, including financial management, payroll, accounting, HR, and others, to simplify and digitise business processes to more than 1.2M SMEs across the Nordic, Benelux, and Baltic regions.

For the public and non-profit sectors, the company provides solutions for improving work processes, reducing bureaucracy, and simplifying collaboration.

Through companies like Visma Circle, Visma Roxit, iAsset, Nazca Solutions, and Genetics, Visma serves many Dutch government organisations and supply chain partners.

The company’s target market includes small businesses and startups, central and local government, institutions and organisations providing education, welfare services, and healthcare services, non-profit and non-government organisations, large enterprises and retailers, and enterprises of all sizes.

The company has 15,000 employees and 1.3 million private and public sector customers in the Benelux, Nordic countries, Central and Eastern Europe, and Latin America.

“As Visma, we want to simplify complex processes through automation. The legislation surrounding the public sector is complex, and the registration obligation is only increasing. P8 Software offers a great platform to simplify compliance and fits well with Visma companies serving organisations in the physical domain”, says John Reynders, Visma’s Area Director for Benelux.
