Amsterdam-based &niped, a provider of preventive health examinations, has been acquired by Robidus, a Dutch company that strengthens employees’ employability.
Sven Kelder, CEO of Robidus, says, “Caring for staff and preventing absenteeism is high on our clients’ agenda. We are proud of the acquisition of this knowledge institute. This will enable us to better serve the entire chain of prevention and absenteeism and to improve occupational health.”
Founded in 2005 by Dr. Coenraad van Kalken and Dr. Roderik Kraaijenhagen, &niped specialises in prevention and early diagnosis. Founded by doctors with a social mission, the company helps employers improve employee employability through health checks that support early detection of health issues.
&niped collaborates with nearly all major health insurers and works with over 1,250 organisations. Its technology aligns with Robidus’ approach to sustainable employability, helping employees stay on the job for longer by spotting health risks early.
Aim of the acquisition
The strategic acquisition signals the start of a new phase for &niped, which will continue its mission of making prevention accessible to everyone. The organisation will maintain its name, role, and methods, continuing to provide data-based insights into health and prevention.
The acquisition follows a milestone of over 500,000 participants in the Personal Health Check (PGC), which supports &niped’s ongoing research and mission to make prevention available across the Netherlands.
Daily operations and contact with clients will remain unchanged, and the company will continue offering the same level of service. At the same time, &niped will expand its range of prevention services, providing more options for employers and partners.
Together with Robidus, the organisation will work to strengthen long-term employability and support public health through a coordinated, data-focused effort.
As for Robidus, it will use the Personal Health Check to identify health and absence risks early and offer targeted lifestyle interventions via the LifeCheck platform. According to the company, this approach supports employees’ work participation and promotes long-term employability.
Rianneke van der Kooi, CEO of &niped, says, “Our data from more than half a million participants shows that the Netherlands needs to become healthier. The combination of the Personal Health Check and access to direct advice and digital help from healthcare professionals from the Robidus LifeCheck platform is an effective approach to prevent dropout.”
