NORNORM is part of the progressive market meeting the demands and experiencing strong growth. About NORNORM

Founded in 2020 by Anders Jepsen and Jonas Kjellberg, NORNORM helps businesses with workplace furniture solutions based on a subscription model.

The company intends to lessen environmental impact by reusing furniture from one office to the next. NORNORM also claims that every product is meticulously maintained and repaired to maximise its longevity.

NORNORM is on a mission to transform the future of work by developing a fully circular business model for workstation furniture, with support from Inter IKEA, Verdane, Philian AB, and Coen van Oostrom.

NORNORM says, with its circular approach, businesses can anticipate more flexibility, cost savings, and environmental advantages. By adopting circularity, NORNORM is establishing a new standard for the office furniture sector and helping to reduce the amount of furniture waste produced by current, linear models.

According to research, the NORNORM model has cut CO2 emissions by 70 per cent yearly.

Currently, the company operates in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, and Austria. Its international customer base includes companies such as Volvo, Electrolux, Castellum, IWG, Wolt, Miro, Edge, and Netflix.

Since its launch, NORNORM claims to have witnessed rapid growth. It has sold over 250,000 square metres of office furniture subscriptions and continues to grow in Europe’s commercial real estate markets, which are looking for sustainable and circular solutions.

In December 2022, Inter IKEA Development and Verdane, a European growth equity specialty group, invested €110M in NORNORM to promote worldwide expansion and growth.

Expansion in the UK

NORNORM has already established business relationships in London, such as with Sustainable Ventures, for whom NORNORM furnished a new 14,000-square-foot office on the fifth floor of County Hall.

The largest climate tech cluster in Europe is located in Sustainable Ventures, a co-working concept that shares NORNORMS’ ideals by placing a significant emphasis on sustainability.

Additionally, NORNORM has also collaborated with MIRO on their new London office. This will be its fourth city and fifth project where NORNORM will offer its circular furniture to MIRO.

Filip Johannesson, Head of Growth at NORNORM, says, “NORNORM’s sustainable and circular approach to office furniture is expected to resonate with London’s progressive commercial property market, which is regarded as one of the most forward-thinking in Europe. We are already seeing demand in the pipeline.”

According to NORNORM, this expansion in Europe shows that its model is profitable and the demand for a flexible, sustainable and circular furniture subscription is growing.
