Last update:

Paris-based Partech, a global tech investment firm, has closed the first round of its Growth Impact Fund and invested in SustainCERT, a Luxembourg-based climate impact verifier.

The French VC firm mentions that though Europe leads in climate tech patents, there’s a gap in private investment for businesses reaching commercial maturity.

With its Growth Impact Fund, Partech aims to address this by focusing on the next stage of development, targeting a fund size of €300M to support the scale-up of innovative climate tech solutions.

What to expect from the new fund?

Partech Impact plans to invest in 15 B2B companies with a minimum revenue of €10M, focusing on impactful businesses in the industrial, agri-food, environment, and inclusion value chains.

Co-founder and General Partner at Partech Impact, Rémi Said says, “Partech Impact’s objective is to partner with 15 Impact-native technological global champions, addressing fundamental climate and social challenges.”

“The objective is to support their growth journey, filling the gap that we see in the current funding landscape between early-stage funds and large buy-out funds.”

Partech Impact, with a team boasting experiences from firms like Bain Capital, Eurazeo, Morgan Stanley and McKinsey, claims to offer more than just capital. Companies partnering with them gain access to knowledge in buy-out, growth, tech, operational, and consulting experience.

The team provides hands-on support, from shaping strategy to establishing operational foundations, fostering organisational growth, and implementing impact measurement frameworks—crucial for businesses at this stage of maturity.

With international investors including Bpifrance, EIF, Legrand, LCL, and Société Générale, Partech Impact operates as an Article 9 fund, prioritising impact measurement and creation at every investment stage, aligning with the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation.

Partech invests in SustainCERT

Partech Impact announced that it has finalised its initial investment in SustainCERT, a Luxembourg-based climate impact verifier.

Founded in 2018 by the Gold Standard Foundation and currently led by co-founder and CEO Marion Verles, SustainCERT operates as an independent organisation with an office in Amsterdam.

Specialising in climate impact verification, the company employs independent expertise and digital solutions to enhance credibility in climate action.

SustainCERT provides validation services for carbon markets and value chains, aligning with global sustainability frameworks such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, UN SDGs, and the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).

Additionally, the company is also a co-founder of the Value Change Initiative, collaborating with major entities to establish best practices for large-scale Scope 3 emission reductions.

Partech’s Impact team aims to help the company’s expansion by leveraging its experience to enhance SustainCERT’s commercial and operational capabilities.
