The Hague-based RESONIKS, an industrial AI-powered startup, has closed €2.65M oversubscribed seed round funding.
Kvanted led the investment, with support from deep tech investor Faber and EIT Manufacturing.
RESONIKS aims to transform the non-destructive testing industry by leveraging the precision of acoustic analysis and the intelligence of AI.
Carlos Silva, partner at Faber, says. “RESONIKS represents a prime example of our commitment to fostering impactful solutions in large industries through innovative deep tech.”
“RESONIKS’ AI-powered acoustic solution for quality control in the manufacturing industry actively translates this focus into action.”
Advanced acoustic inspection technology
Founded in 2022 by Felix Wassmann (CEO), Fabian Oberndorfer (CTO), and Isaac Kargar (CIO), RESONIKS (previously SUPPLYZ) aims to redefine the quality control processes.
By combining acoustics and artificial intelligence, the company has developed a solution to spot anomalies such as cracks, pores, and air pockets in metal components by analysing how metal objects react to sound.
This innovation automates tedious and risky inspections, addressing the global scarcity of skilled labour and ensuring products meet rigorous quality criteria.
RESONIKS focuses on sectors such as automotive and maritime, using its technology to identify defects that are undetectable to both human and machine vision. By doing so, they reduce waste, conserve energy, and promote sustainable metal recycling practices.
CEO Wassmann says, “We are thrilled by the overwhelming support received during this seed funding round.”
“The confidence our investors have expressed in our company, coupled with our expanding team and growing customer base, paves our way to make manual quality inspection a thing of the past.”
Partnership with EIT Manufacturing
RESONIKS has also partnered with EIT Manufacturing, a network facilitating collaboration between startups and industrial partners to drive sustainable innovation in Europe.
EIT Manufacturing, backed by the European Union, will assist RESONIKS in accessing new markets and customer services.
Kevin Lenehan, Director of Investments at EIT Manufacturing, says, “We look forward to actively supporting RESONIKS on this exciting journey of growth and innovation, and their mission to revolutionise quality control processes in the manufacturing sector.”
“Our partnership with RESONIKS is in line with our commitment to fostering sustainable innovation and strengthening resilience in Europe’s manufacturing industry.”
Since November 2023, RESONIKS’ team has expanded from four to fourteen members, including the founders.
They’ve deployed their solutions in European factories, particularly in Germany, and aim to launch their second product series in May 2024, enhancing their product range with a fully integrated In-Line system.
