On Thursday, The European Investment Fund announced that it is set to join Amsterdam-based SevenGen Investment Partners’ new Growth Fund with a €40M commitment.

SevenGen focuses on high-impact investments in profitable companies within the energy, mobility, built environment, and industrial decarbonisation sectors across the Benelux, Germany, and the Nordics.

SevenGen distinguishes itself by targeting businesses that are profitable and have outgrown the venture capital phase, and by delivering growth capital to accelerate impact and scalability.

Frederik Deutman, Managing Partner at SevenGen says, “This partnership enables us to accelerate innovation and scale these businesses, addressing a gap often overlooked by traditional buyout models. We aim to deliver strong financial returns, measurable impact, and meaningful additionality. We are currently in advanced discussions with several companies that align perfectly with this mission.”

Focus on profitable businesses

This fund focuses on profitable businesses that need capital to scale, innovate, and expand their impact.

With EIF’s support, the fund plans to boost its investments, promote sustainable growth in important sectors, and benefit future generations.

However, the EIF’s commitment remains subject to the fulfilment of several conditions precedent.

The announcement comes around eight months after the European Investment Fund (EIF) opened its new office for the Benelux region at the tenth anniversary of the EIB Group office in Amsterdam.
