Sigma Software Group, a global IT services provider, has acquired North Carolina-based IT and engineering consulting firm A Society, Group, Inc. This move strengthens Sigma Software’s presence in the US market.
A Society Group, previously part of Sweden-based A Society, offers IT and tech consulting with the ‘most attractive’ clients in automotive, manufacturing, defence, and other sectors. The sale of its US operations aligns with A Society’s plan to concentrate on brokerage services in Europe.
A Society operates globally through a network of independent consultants, small businesses, and partners.
Sigma Software Group and A Society are both part of Danir Group, a global organisation with 10,000 employees that provides solutions across various industries.
Jeanette Rumenius, CEO of A Society, says, “We are pleased that A Society Group, Inc. remains within the Danir family, ensuring a seamless transition for clients and employees alike, with specific measures in place to support this process. Maintaining service excellence and upholding our commitment to customers and staff remains our top priority.”
Danir Group is a family-owned business led by the Dan Olofsson family. It includes consulting companies that support customers in digitalisation. The group operates in 29 countries with 9,900 employees.
Why the acquisition?
Sigma Software Group has worked with North American businesses for over 20 years, including companies like AOL, AT&T, and Motorola, as well as tech startups. Since opening its first US office in 2014, it has focused on growing its local presence.
The acquisition of A Society Group, Inc. further expands its US operations, increasing its capacity to support enterprise clients and its role in digital transformation, engineering, and IT consulting.
Valery Krasovsky, CEO and co-founder of Sigma Software Group, says, “This expansion is driven by the need for closer collaboration with our existing and potential clients, and we aim to prioritise and foster it throughout the transition process.”
“Shifting geopolitical dynamics and business resilience considerations prompt businesses to seek technology partners who are physically present and deeply integrated into the enterprise operations. This acquisition positions us as a stable partner in these changing times.”
Filip Rosander, CEO of A Society Group, Inc., adds, “This marks an exciting new chapter for our company. While we have historically focused on delivering onsite consulting services to large enterprises in the US, joining forces with Sigma Software enables us to leverage their deep technical expertise, innovative solutions, and global talent network.”
“This will unlock significant growth opportunities for both our customers and consultants allowing us to offer a seamless blend of world-class expertise and strong local presence, delivering even greater value to our clients.”
