Utrecht, Netherlands-based Solvari, a construction and renovation platform, announced on Thursday that it has acquired Belgian’s DIY networks Casius and Twizzi to further strengthen its position in the Benelux region. Details about the deal were not disclosed.
Dennis van den Bos, CEO of Solvari, says, “With these acquisitions, we are working hard to offer our customers a wide range of high-quality services and formulas.”
Prior to this, Solvari acquired Buldit and Offrea. Buldit was acquired at the beginning of 2021, and had 300 websites for building and renovating with 2 million monthly visitors. Less than a year later, Offrea was acquired, which served more than 2,200 extra DIY companies in more than 130 construction sectors.
Serving the Dutch and Belgian market for 20 years
Casius and Twizzi, since its foundation in 2000, have helped more than 1 million homeowners to find a reliable professional. This is done with a team of 25 employees from their offices in Amsterdam and Lokeren.
Twizzi offers a transparent matching service between private individuals and professionals. Private individuals place an order for free, while professionals respond immediately to be allowed to carry out the work.
Co-founder Toon Vanagt says, “Over the past year, we were very impressed by the strategic acquisitions that Solvari made in our home markets with the help of investment company Vortex. In recent years, Solvari has focused strongly on making the construction sector greener. The Casius network is a strong addition to this in helping to achieve this social objective commercially.”
According to TechEU, Casius and Twizzi have mediated over €2B of building and renovation projects for private individuals in the Benelux region.
How will the acquisition help Solvari?
Solvari aims to improve its service, reach and market share. The company has been focusing on home improvement since 2009 and claims to have been the match between professional and consumer. With this acquisition of Casius and Twizzi, Solvari hopes to accelerate that goal.
In addition, this expansion of the Solvari group also provides a wider range of services and more reach. Chief Commercial Officer Coen Verver says, “With a total of 150 employees in 2022, we want to break through the turnover of €17M. We have the ambition to further broaden our service offering and increase our market share thanks to the obvious synergies and targeted growth.”
Solvari offers simple and quick quotes for their home improvement products specialising in sustainability-related products, solar panel installation and floor isolation services. After this, the company gets in touch with professionals and receives quotations without obligation, thus enabling users to get free quotes from appropriate personnel for jobs in and around their house and inspiration for the interior of their homes.
According to a company’s statement, Solvari makes more than 3,600 matches per day in the Netherlands and Belgium, and annually helps approximately 5,000 professionals to new customers. In all, more than 400,000 consumers have their construction or transformation project carried out via the platform every year.
The company is reportedly backed by Amsterdam-based Vortex Capital Partners, which helps the company’s build-and-buy market consolidation strategy.
