Last update:

SwipeGuide, a Netherlands-based SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) company, raised €1M of growth capital from Benelux software fund Newion.  The company raised its first outside funding in early 2017 when it raised a €300,000 seed investment to increase the speed of development. The startup’s founders are Daan Assen and CEO Willemijn Schneyder, who’s one of Silicon Canals’ six badass Female Founders to Watch.

Unlike startups these days that burn a lot of cash to become profitable, the company was cash-flow positive since its launch. It boasts having enterprise customers such as Philips, Ziggo, Quby, ARAG, Eijsink, and Duux. The company plans to use the funding proceeds for software development and international growth, especially setting up an office in New York to cater the North American market.

SwipeGuide’s successful track record

It won the Young Technology Award 2017 out of six companies namely 20Face, Ecofalt, Ipsum Energy, Mobina IT, and Smart2IT. With it, it also grabbed a prize of €5,000. Organized by Novel-T, the award acknowledges young, innovative companies from the Netherlands.

Founders’ background and product plan

As aforementioned, SwipeGuide was founded by female founder Willemijn Schneyder and Daan Assen in 2016. Schneyder, who’s a graduate of The University of Huddersfield, previously founded Number8, an agile growth agency. She also remains a lecturer at Beeckestijn Business School. Assen, co-founder of SwipeGuide, also founded Squads, a platform to find & work with on-demand software teams.

The SaaS product by SwipeGuide has some nifty features which include drag and drop editing, 100% mobile, team collaboration, and smart feedbacks. It’s inspirational to see female founders make big in tech startups. Silicon Canals also announced the names of six badass female tech entrepreneurs.

The current round of funding gives SwipeGuide ample runway to fuel its international growth. It also plans to develop an augmented reality (AR) prototype with which an instruction can be delivered to the end-user through image or voice recognition.
