Last update:

Amsterdam-based Techleap.nl, a non-profit organisation, announced on September 15 that it has signed a new three-year agreement with the Dutch government to help build a strong tech sector in the Netherlands.

Constantijn Van Oranje-Nassau, Envoy at Techleap.nl, announced this development via a LinkedIn post. He says, “I am happy to drop our working title Techleap2.0 and revert back to Techleapnl. We welcome a new leadership team with Maarten Cleeren, Hadewych Corstens and Myrthe Hooijman.”

Supporting the growth of the tech industry in the Netherlands

According to Van Oranje-Nassau, Techleap.nl will refocus on three main areas:

  • Techleap.nl, led by Dylan Richts, is expanding its BOLD community to become the national hub for tech founders, extending the Rise Programme, attracting partners, and enhancing services for tech entrepreneurs. They’re also creating thematic tech communities, all to strengthen the Dutch tech sector.
  • Ingrid Tappin is spearheading the expansion of Techleap.nl’s “Growing Diverse Leaders in Tech” initiative, which will include a community, toolkit, platform, and services. This programme aims to boost inclusivity in the Dutch tech sector by tapping into diverse talent pools and supporting underrepresented entrepreneurs.
  • Peter Maarten Westerhout is leading efforts to transform the Netherlands into a Deeptech powerhouse. This involves removing growth barriers, fostering collaborations, and supporting Deeptech founders through programmes like Pole Position and the Academic Startup Competition.

The organisation, operating independently and impartially, is dedicated to advancing the Dutch (deep)tech sector. They plan to achieve this by collaborating with government and stakeholders to enhance policies, acting as a catalyst in the tech ecosystem, fostering international connections, and providing valuable data-based insights and research.

One of their prominent offerings is the Rise Programme, which provides selected scale-ups with valuable learning opportunities and a robust network infrastructure.

Through this programme, scale-ups can connect with leading experts, tap into important networks, and access resources to learn from successful Dutch entrepreneurs

Moreover, participation in the Rise Programme helps scale-ups gain international exposure and visibility among corporates, investors, and the media. This holistic approach aims to create an ideal environment for tech firms to expand and flourish in the Netherlands and beyond.
