Finding affordable parking spaces is a major problem, especially if your office is in the city centrum. Companies usually spend a considerable budget on parking spaces for their employees. And, to resolve this issue, there are many startups providing smart parking solutions for users.

One of them is Commuty, a smart parking solution from Belgium meant for employers. The startup lets employers manage parking spots and promote alternative options to driving to work.

Raises โ‚ฌ500k to accelerate growth

Founded in 2015 by Anne-Claire Vanfleteren, this Belgian smart parking startup also recently raised โ‚ฌ500k from its investors โ€“ Sambrinvest and Be Angels. The startup aims to accelerate its growth with the newly raised funding. Furthermore, the startup aims to double the workforce to strengthen its team of salespeople and developers. As of now, it has expanded its operations in Belgium, France and Luxembourg but aims to grow across Europe.

What Commuty does?

Commuty manages parking policy of companies including priority rules for parking spots for employees and visitors. It lets companies invite their employees on to the platform, encourage alternative transport options such as bicycling and carpooling and provide companies with parking-related reporting.

Thereโ€™s a companion app

Commuty operates via a web platform and app where each company gets its own online space on these. The platform uses an intelligent algorithm that optimises the distribution of parking spots. For instance, the priority spots are given to those who live the furthest from the space and those who do not have alternatives such as cycling, carpooling and public transportation.

Solutions offered

The Belgian smart parking solution provider offers a slew of solutions such as smart parking management, carpooling, bicycle and kilometre refund and booking a shared resource. Companies can just create parking, set up the priorities and invite employees to use the same. It is possible to enter parking spots requests in 2 clicks.

โ€œOur solution allows employers or office building managers to control daily access to their parking area, including priority and restricted spots, and also to manage unoccupied spaces,โ€ said Anne-Claire Vanfleteren, CEO of Communty. โ€œFor the employee, this allows him to know in advance whether he will have access to the parking or not and organize himself.โ€
