Femtech ventures are creating a women-centric niche in the market and are attracting investments to encourage the development of products and services targeted at enhancing women’s health. While femtech is a wide sector and fertility and technology used to handle the same come under it.

As per reports, one in six couples finds it difficult to conceive and seek the help of treatments for the same. As a result, the global fertility market is estimated to be valued over $16.8 billion and is likely to hit $31 billion by 2013. To make use of the booming business, startups like Apricity have started receiving investments.

Apricity gets €6M funding

The London-headquartered virtual fertility clinic Apricity founded by Caroline Noublanche has raised €6 million Series A funding from AXA’s Kamet Ventures. This takes the overall funding raised by the company to €8.8 million. With this investment, the femtech aims to make fertility treatments more effective and less arduous.

Acquired UK-based Altrui!

In an attempt to strengthen its proposition further, Apricity acquired UK-based Altrui. It is an egg donation service, which has almost a decade of experience in working with leading fertility clinics across the country and offering support to patients. The company believes that the acquisition will help them become the leading fertility service provider in the UK.

Caroline Noublanche, CEO and Co-Founder of Apricity said, “We are thrilled that for such a new company, we have seen such amazing support from AXA and Kamet Ventures. The fundraising will allow us to accelerate our go-to-market plans, especially with AXA, to better support and empower women and couples everywhere. The acquisition of Altrui is especially exciting for us. It gives us a great opportunity to realise our vision of becoming the number one route for accessing and using fertility services.”

Artificial Intelligence applied to fertility!

Apricity combines human care and latest technologies and apply state-of-the-art AI to improve chances of conception. This service lets prospective parents connect with the best healthcare professionals and minimise the psychological pressure of treatment via personalised advice and support.

There’s more emphasis on fertility treatments

As there is a greater financial constraint on the diagnosis of fertility issues and related treatment, this sector is highly vulnerable to budget cuts. And, there has never been such a crucial moment to focus more on the fertility treatments and enhance the efficiency of this sector.

What else Apricity offers?

Besides making fertility treatments more efficient and effective, Apricity ensures to offer the best patient care and success rates. Also, offers bespoke treatments, a cutting-edge app with appointment and vaccination reminders, nurses available 24/7 and curated videos and articles to help new parents.
