After testing out the feature for a couple of months, micro-blogging site Twitter has rolled out its much-awaited “Ticketed Spaces” feature to more users on iOS, providing an additional way for creators to make money on the platform.Â
In a statement, Twitter says, “we want to help people creating cool Spaces make $$$. today, some Hosts will be able to create Ticketed Spaces! We’re experimenting on iOS only for now but we hope to get it to everyone soon. I Know it’s taking us a little time, but we want to get this right for you!”
Through Ticketed Spaces, the host can decide the price and quantity of tickets. Host earns a majority of the revenue from ticket sales. Twitter will take a 3 per cent cut from their earnings.
Discover more on Spaces
In other news, Twitter is also experimenting with new options that will let users show followers which Spaces they are listening to.Â
“We’re experimenting with ways to help you discover more Spaces. For some of you on iOS and Android, if someone you follow is listening to a Space, you’ll see it at the top of your tl (timeline). You can control who can see your listening activity in your settings. Send us your thoughts!,” says Twitter.
Currently, Twitter only shows Spaces hosted by accounts one follows or if someone they follow is currently attending. However, the company now wants to make it easier to let people discover more Spaces on its mobile app, reports 9To5Mac.
If someone doesn’t want their followers to know about what Spaces they are attending, theycan disable the option by heading to Settings and privacy -> Privacy and safety -> Turn off the toggle under the option ‘allow followers to see which Spaces you’re listening to.’
Since the option is in the experimental stage, it may not become available to all users.
