To facilitate more people with its rapid food delivery service, Uber Eats is all set to expand its operation in three new cities in the Netherlands. One of these propitious cities is going to be Delft, reportedly, the company hasnโt revealed the names of the other two yet.
Uber Eats โ connects customers, delivery person and restaurants
Uber Eats is looking forward to incorporating more restaurants into its bouquet to augment the demand-supply. Without employing delivery personals, the company wants to make a network connecting the restaurants and caterers having their own delivery staff.
The platform intends to manage an efficient ride planning enabling a bicycle courier to pick up and deliver multiple orders in one trip.ย The game-changer for Uber Eats in the Dutch ecosystem was the introduction of iDeal as a payment option in addition to Paypal and credit card.
Aukeline Tolman, Director of Uber Eats Netherlands expressed, “The Netherlands is internationally one of the top markets in terms of ordering food. Forty percent of us sometimes leave time at home or at the office. We do that on average one and a half times a week. So we do not do that about 19.5 times.”
Aims to cater 2400 restaurants
Uber Eats has collaborated with more than 1,200 restaurants in the Netherlands. Presently, it operates in the cities like Amsterdam, Amstelveen, Utrecht, The Hague, Rotterdam, Haarlem and Groningen. Now, the company aspires to escalate its services by twofold and expand in large and medium-sized cities.
Tough competition
Uber Eats will work in the direction to provide more customersโ food behavioural data to the restaurants for the enhancement of service.
The food delivery market is getting more competitive as new players are emerging with time. All the contenders are skirmishing with their advanced technologies to grab the maximum market share. Uber Eats intention to break into new markets is definitely a significant step.
