London-based Zeti, a mobility startup, on Thursday announced that it has raised £5M (approximately €5.9M) in Series A funding from HYCAP Group, the UK-based net zero energy transition investor.

The investment was led by Jo Bamford, Founding Partner of HYCAP and heir to JCB Ltd.

Zeti says it will use the funds to accelerate the distribution of its Zeti Hub digital platform to provide a fully financed and integrated Transport as a  Service (TaaS) solution.

“We are delighted to welcome HYCAP Group as an investor into Zeti,” said Dan Saunders,  Founder & CEO of Zeti.

“HYCAP has demonstrated their commitment to helping the transition to net zero. Their investment will further enhance our ability to offer flexible financing options to accelerate the adoption of clean transport solutions on a larger scale,” says Saunders.

The company is a digital financing platform that connects operators of business-critical vehicle fleets looking to source electric vehicles (‘EVs’) with institutional funders.

Through its patent-pending digital platform, the company enables businesses and individuals to access cost-effective and sustainable transport solutions.

As per the company’s claims, the demand for it’s fintech solution has continued to grow on multiple fronts, with over 4,500 vehicles on their platform “Zeti Hub.” It includes institutional lenders, fleet operators, and vehicle manufacturers seeking sales and financing support.

The investor

HYCAP Group is a UK-based net zero asset management company dedicated to investing in and promoting sustainable and clean energy solutions.

Scott Lanphere, HYCAP’s Chief Investment Officer, says, “Zeti represents the future of energy transition asset management, combining Software  as a Service (SaaS), financial payments, and hard asset reporting.”

“If it can be measured, Zeti can show it in real-time. Its platform has applications well beyond mobility and brings the energy transition space into sharper focus. We are very pleased to be backing the company’s vision and execution,” adds Lanphere.

Jo Bamford, Chairman and founding partner of HYCAP Group, adds, “We continue to explore all avenues in our bid to accelerate decarbonisation and we have been struck not just by the energy and enthusiasm of the ZeN team but by the scale of their ambition. Fleet operators who previously have said that switching to net zero was too expensive  can now earn instant revenues to help subsidise the switch while dramatically reducing  their carbon footprint and fuel costs.”
