London-based Untamed, a human-grade cat food brand, announced that it has secured £10M (approximately €11.6M) in a Series B funding round led by New York consumer VC firm Coefficient Capital.

Coefficient Capital leads investments in high-growth consumer brands that align the physical world with the digital universe. It offers capital, expertise, connections, and its brand tool kit to help businesses grow.

Andrew Goletka, Managing Partner, Coefficient Capital, says: “Untamed is redefining what it means to care for our pets — combining science, passion, and purpose in a way that truly resonates with today’s consumer. We’re excited to help scale their vision and build a category-defining brand in the years ahead.”

French VC firm Five Seasons Ventures and London-based Redrice also participated in the funding round.

As part of the investment, Untamed gains a new board member, Coefficient Capital’s Andrew Goletka.

Marco Pacifici, Co-Founder and CEO, says, “We are excited to have Coefficient Capital join us on our mission of bringing an ancestrally inspired diet to cats across the UK and beyond!”

The raise brings total funding for Untamed to £23M (approximately €26.7M) following £3M (approximately €3.4M) in pre-seed and seed funding between 2020 and 2022 and a £5M (approximately €5.8M) in Series A in March 2023, which was extended by a further £5M (approximately €5.8M) in May 2024.

Since its launch, the company claims to have served over 50 million meals.

Untamed: Provider of human-grade cat food

Co-founders Ben Spicer, Lenny Cordell, and Marco Pacifici launched Untamed five years ago after witnessing firsthand the positive impact of an ancestrally inspired diet on cat well-being.

Cat owners can fill out a short questionnaire on the company’s website, providing information about their cat’s age, food preferences, and eating habits.

This helps the company create personalised boxes of wet food that are perfectly portioned for each cat.

The company then delivers monthly boxes of shelf-stable, whole-meat meals directly to customers’ doors.

Untamed is a direct-to-consumer subscription cat food brand that provides pantry-fresh food to 80,000 cats each month across the UK.

The meals offered by Untamed are high in meat content and made with human-grade ingredients that are easy to serve and approved by even the pickiest cats.

There are no nasties, grains, or fillers included.

In 2024, Untamed achieved B Corp status and now donates 1 per cent of its revenue to environmental causes through its commitment to 1 per cent for the Planet.
