After €41.72M, Spain’s Wallbox charges up with €9.5M to accelerate profitability

On Monday, Barcelona-based Wallbox, a smart electric vehicle charging and energy management provider, announced that it has secured $10M (approximately €9.5M) in a funding round.

The investors who backed the company include Inversiones Financieras Perseo, S.L. (Iberdrola’s subsidiary), Orilla Asset Management, and Enric Asunción, CEO and Co-Founder.

Additionally, several long-standing shareholders also participated in the round.

The investment was made through a private placement of 26,707,142 Class A ordinary shares, raising approximately $10M from existing investors.

The private placement closed on February 21, 2025.

“This investment reinforces our mission to make EV charging more accessible worldwide while driving operational efficiency and financial sustainability,” says Enric Asuncion, CEO and co-founder of Wallbox. “Our shareholders’ continued support reflects their confidence in our long-term vision and strategic direction. As we expand our global presence, this funding will help us on our journey to profitability and solidify our leadership in the EV charging industry.”

The announcement comes six months after raising €41.72M in funding in 2024.
