In the fast-paced world of enterprise AI, a new player has emerged from Amsterdam: GLBNXT.
Founded by seasoned tech leaders Jan Saan and Richard van Anholt, GLBNXT is a SaaS startup that recently launched after months in stealth mode.
Their platform is designed to empower knowledge workers by transforming enterprise data into actionable insights through AI, all while ensuring full data sovereignty by operating entirely within the European Union.
In our “What’s in a Name?” series, we delve into the stories behind startup names that stand out.
This edition features GLBNXT, exploring the inspiration behind its name and how it encapsulates its mission to lead the next wave of global technological transformation.
Naming with purpose
The name GLBNXT is a shortened form of Global Next Technologies.
“It reflects our belief that we are entering the next major wave of technological transformation and organisations across the globe need to be ready to ride it,” says the company’s co-founder Richard van Anholt.
van Anholt says the name signals scale, forward momentum, and readiness—values that are at the heart of everything we do.
“It’s both a statement and a call to action: the world is changing fast, and we’re building the platform to help others move with it,” adds van Anholt.
Rooted in mission
At its core, GLBNXT encapsulates the startup’s purpose: to drive the next wave of global enterprise transformation through cutting-edge AI solutions.
“It underscores our dedication to providing forward-thinking solutions that empower organisations worldwide,” he adds.
Global appeal takes center stage
Every good thing takes time and finalising the company name isn’t an exception.
“We wanted something short and memorable but also carried a deeper meaning—something that would reflect both our vision and long-term ambition. It wasn’t just about branding; it had to feel right,” adds van Anholt.
The founding duo wanted a name that had a clear international appeal, one that would resonate globally and enhance their goal of building a company of global significance.
After exploring many directions, GLBNXT struck the right balance.
“It’s compact, distinctive, and reflects the idea of leading the next wave of global technology,” van Anholt.
Trademarking the name
Like most modern startups, domain availability was non-negotiable.
“We conducted thorough research to ensure that GLBNXT was unique and did not conflict with any existing trademarks. This due diligence helped us avoid legal complications and build a strong, protectable brand foundation.”
Looking ahead
Will the name evolve? Maybe, but not anytime soon, hints van Anholt!
“While GLBNXT” aligns well with our current vision, we remain open to evolution. As the company grows and explores new avenues, we will assess if any branding adjustments are necessary to reflect our expanded scope.”
Why does the name matter?
In the startup world, a name isn’t just a label—it’s a story, a strategy, and sometimes, a first impression that sticks.
GLBNXT’s founders believe that choosing the right name is a vital early decision.
“It should encapsulate the brand’s essence and resonate with its target audience. “GLBNXT” effectively communicates our global outlook and innovative approach, which we believe contributes to our success,” he concludes.
