Last update:

Spanish-born Xoople, a data and AI company, emerges from stealth to close its latest equity round. The company’s total funding now stands at €115M.

Investors include both Spanish and international backers, such as CDTI, a public entity under the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, and AXIS, a VC manager owned by Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO).

Xoople has been classified as a Strategic Enterprise by CDTI and represents one of the largest investments in the Innvierte programme.

CDTI’s investment highlights interest in developing AI and Earth Data technologies, as well as the role of national support in advancing global competitiveness.

Teresa Riesgo, CDTI President and Secretary General for Innovation in the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, says, “Our investment in Xoople reflects Spain’s commitment to innovation and technological sovereignty. What sets Xoople apart — even within our strong national portfolio of deep tech companies — is its potential to power enterprise AI systems in Spain and beyond.”

“By helping us better understand and respond to what’s happening on the surface of the Earth, Xoople is strengthening Spain’s digital future, while also contributing to Europe’s broader goals for resilience. The moment is now, and it’s a privilege to support a homegrown company with such far-reaching potential.”

Powering Earth intelligence with EarthAI

Xoople is a company focused on building systems that collect and process data about surface changes on Earth. Its platform, EarthAI, helps businesses and communities use this data for practical decision-making.

Spanish institutions, including the Spanish Space Agency (Agencia Espacial Española), support the company’s role in developing an AI-driven economy.

Xoople developed the system in collaboration with clients from various sectors and regions. The goal is to provide a repeatable and machine-ready dataset that addresses practical needs.

The system creates a continuous flow of Earth-related data, made to work with AI tools that can detect changes, find patterns, and forecast developments. This data can now be accessed directly within the tools companies already use.

Am upcoming satellite network will expand the reach and reliability of the platform, making it possible to provide more data for broader use.

Xoople aims to deliver this information to people and groups who can apply it in areas such as farming, transport, and finance. The goal is to help these users operate more effectively, monitor environmental impact, handle uncertainty, and develop new processes.

Juan Carlos Cortés Pulido, Spanish Space Agency (AEE), Director, says, “Xoople is building a new era of Earth Observation, called EarthAI. Importantly, it’s one that empowers people to make smarter, more informed decisions.”

“The company’s vision aligns with our mission to improve daily life by turning data into something actionable. Their commitment to using AI and Earth data to tackle some of the world’s more pressing challenges speaks volumes. It will help shape a better and more sustainable future for communities worldwide.”

Support from global partners

Xoople is building EarthAI solutions to support people, businesses, and worldwide needs. Its shareholders and partners play a central role in this work, combining leadership, knowledge, and technology to power its platform.

A key collaboration with Microsoft provides Azure services to support customer data processing. Xoople also partners with Esri, a major geospatial software provider. These partnerships, along with contributions from its global team, support the company’s efforts to expand its EarthAI operations.

Richard Cooke, Esri Corporate Director and Global Head of Sales and Marketing, says, “We have been so impressed by the vision, talent and momentum of Xoople. Their team has unmatched industry expertise, and their purpose-built Earth Intelligence service is solving unmet business needs, delivering AI-ready data and authoritative insights rooted in scientific rigour.”

“This is a combination that simply does not exist today. It takes us beyond a world of images and into a world of insights, providing a dependable ground truth that drives better decisions — from conservation and climate resilience to agriculture and sustainable development. We are excited about Xoople’s potential and proud to support Fabrizio and the team.”

Fabrizio Pirondini, Xoople CEO, says, “We are humbled and grateful that our investors and partners share our vision to develop and fuel the new era of EarthAI. In our volatile world, the ability to quickly detect and precisely understand changes on the Earth’s surface is more crucial than ever.”

“As the world’s first purpose-built Earth Intelligence service, Xoople will open endless possibilities, delivering a trusted, global source of data that helps make sense of the world we live in. We are excited to be at the forefront of the transformational possibilities of EarthAI.”
