San Francisco-based Hired, which also has offices in Canada, the United States, the UK, and France is a marketplace matching tech talent and the world’s most innovative companies. The company is backed by Sierra Ventures, Lumia Capital and other leading investors. Aimed at bringing more transparency between companies and job aspirants in terms of salary offers, job details, and opportunities, Hired makes the recruiting process more efficient, quicker, and unparalleled.

Early in September 2019, Hired came up with the Brand Health Report with results showing survey data from 3,600 software developers, data scientists, designers, and product managers across the regions where it operates. It has collated details such as the most desirable tech employers in several countries and top tech brands in 2019. While the Hired report has come up with several conclusions, here we take a look at 5 factors that turn job seekers away.

#1 Not interested in their product

Going by the report, 49% of candidates have stated that they will turn off a job offer if they are not interested in the product. Well, candidates should be interested to deliver the best possible results. If they are not interested, they will not be able to work with their complete potential and be productive. So, it is a win-win for both companies and candidates.

#2 Poor reputation

Any candidates will like to work for companies that have a good reputation. Only then, they will be able to take their career to the next level. After all, no one would like to work for an employer with a poor reputation. Eventually, 41% of the surveyed candidates have chosen this option to turn off a job.

#3 I don’t know enough about them

Candidates looking out for a job to consider several aspects. There are some important factors that one should consider while accepting a job offer. One aspect is to know enough about the company offering a job. Many candidates refuse to work for a company without knowing enough about the employer and this is why 41% of candidates from Hired also suggest this as a reason to turn off a job offer.

#4 Not interested in their mission

Any company will have a mission and vision to achieve over a period of time. But it is important for the employees to be interested in the mission of the company they work for. Working with an aspiring company is the best way to become successful and this is why 41% of participants surveyed by Hired prefer not to work for a company if they are not interested in its mission.

#5 Company culture

Many employees feel comfortable to work for a company with a preferable company culture that suits their personality. If one is uncomfortable to work with a company with corporate culture, then the candidate might not work properly. As a result, 34% of the participants consider the company culture and turn off a job if they do not find it comfortable.
