Accusonus secures €3M funding to help content creators repair audios in their videos

Greece-based Accusonus is an Artificial Intelligence company that helps content creators improve the overall experience of audio recording and editing. With its roots in the US and Greece, the company is one of the pioneers to introduce machine learning audio processing products in the market.

Established in 2013 by Alex Tsilfidis and Elias Kokkinis, Accusonus secured $3.3 million (nearly €3 million) Series A funding. The financing round was led by Athens-based Venture Friends along with participation from Big Pi, PJ Tech, IQBility along a consortium of US-based investors led by Michael Tzannes, the co-founder of the company.

Accusonus believes in podcasters and even people recording on smartphones due to excessive demand and helps them sanitise their recordings. With the new funding, the company hopes to democratise access to high-quality audio.

Audio products with machine learning

Accusonus has been introducing several audio and music applications with Artificial Intelligence since its existence. Its first product dubbed Drumatom lets recording engineers to control microphone bleed or spill during drum recordings. This was followed by the release of Regroover in 2017. Regroover is an Artificial Intelligence instrument, which un-mixes audio loops into stems letting new beat making workflows possible.

The products of Accusonus have been used by engineers working with popular musicians and artists including Super Furry Animals, Goo Goo Dolls, Wilco, Jennifer Lopez, Lou Reed, Bob Dylan, and others.

Simple-to-use tools

Recently, Accusonus developed a suite of simple-to-use tools. These tools help video content and podcast producers repair or clean up audio in their content. As there is an exponential growth in the amount of content, it is often recorded using smartphones and other such equipment or turned around quickly.

Accusonus Enhancement and Repair of Audio (ERA) tools can clean up audio recording by turning a virtual knob within the software. The tools function as plugins and are compatible with major audio and video platforms. These include Audacity, Garageband and other entry-level editors and Apple Logic Pro, Da Vinci Resolve, Avid Pro Tools, Apple Final Cut, Adobe Premiere Pro and other high-end offerings.
