Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, is a city of innovation and creativity where technology startups are thriving. Many young entrepreneurs are attracted to the city because of its vibrant culture and abundance of opportunities to scale their businesses. 

Amsterdam also offers plenty of support for startups through government initiatives, incubators, accelerators, venture capitalists, and other resources. 

In recent years, there has also been an increase in investment in Amsterdam startups. 

We have compiled a list of Amsterdam startups that raised funding in January. Some of them are hiring right now.

Creative Fabrica

Fund raised in January 2023: €56.85M

Creative Fabrica is a marketplace for fonts, graphics, crafts designs, and premium content for crafters through subscriptions. 

The Amsterdam-based company recently launched CF Spark, a set of tools that uses generative AI to assist designers and producers in accelerating their creative processes by enabling them to generate text-to-image content. 

Earlier this month, the Dutch company raised €56.85M led by Alven and was joined by LionTree and TriplePoint. Creative Fabrica is hiring for various roles. Click here to apply.

Hiring status: No

not8 is a B2B startup that aims to standardise the product development review process. 

Product managers and other officials typically waste tens of hours per week making unnecessary calls, marking screenshots, and sending long-written explanations on needed fixes.

The company’s feedback tool lets the product team comment on any web-based product, streamlining the development process. It also reduces the risk of information loss and minimises the number of review cycles required.

A week back, the company raised an undisclosed amount from Antler.

Lapsi Health

Hiring status: Yes

Lapsi Health is a medtech company aiming to change how auscultatory sounds are used in medicine and pharma-biotech. 

The medical definition of auscultation is listening to the sounds of the heart, lungs, arteries, and belly (acquired from stethoscopes). 

Lapsi Health’s products are built for doctors, patients, and researchers. The company raised €3.25M in an oversubscribed Seed round of funding.

HirePort

Hiring status: Yes

HirePort is a platform for hiring tech employees via vetted recruiters. 

The platform provides a candidate-based matching tool that automatically links companies to the recruiter that proposes the right candidate without having to deal with the usual onboarding, management, and contract negotiation process. 

It allows companies to access an endless pool of candidates from multiple suppliers, managing the process efficiently.

The Amsterdam-based firm raised €1M in a Seed round of funding led by Powerloom.

Mithra AI is an Amsterdam-based AI startup that helps procurement teams to make data-driven decisions by providing them continuous visibility and insights into their spending data through its cognitive spend intelligence solution. 

The company raised €300K convertible loan from Innovatiefonds Noord-Holland.

Sprinque is a B2B payments technology platform that enables retailers and marketplaces to provide ‘Pay by Invoice’ with net payment terms to customers online without assuming additional risk or raising operating costs.

It is a white-labelled solution and can be incorporated through the merchants’ APIs, Magento, Prestashop, and WooCommerce plugins, or used offline using the company’s Merchant Control Centre.

The Amsterdam platform raised €6M in a Seed round of funding

The Amsterdam startup aims to achieve maximum impact in reducing CO2 emissions from heating homes.

Authic Labs aims to make Web3 accessible for all organisations and change how they engage with their clients through unique marketing experiences using NFTs.

The Dutch marketplace offers a no-code platform, Authic Suites, for brands and organisations from various industries like art, fashion, gaming, or sports to create and sell digital collectibles on their website. 

Authic Labs raised funding in a pre-seed round from Rockstart and Graduate Entrepreneur.

In addition, the company enables detailed attack surface management and risk prioritisation.

The company raised fresh funding from ABN AMRO Ventures.

Using AI, the Amsterdam platform forecasts how much money hotels can make by selling their excess capacity to customers. 

With a fair price and a complete package that includes extras like meals and health, ViaLuxury delivers that overcapacity. This way, the website provides the finest discounts for stays at luxurious hotels.

ViaLuxury raised fresh funds from new investors Limburg Technology Investment Fund and Genzai.

Stippl offers travellers a platform via a website and as an app for iOS and Android to create, organise, and change travel itineraries easily. 

The Dutch company says users can start by selecting the travel dates and associated destinations in a ‘drag & drop’ planner, which can be shared and synced with others when multiple people plan trips. 

The Amsterdam company secured €400K to accelerate global expansion.
