British tech startup DAZN comes to Netherlands, opens new development center in Amsterdam

DAZN, an online video streaming website with millions of subscribers have established a new base in the Netherlands with an aim to drastically increase their numbers of subscribers.

Founded in 2015, this British tech startup is very successful and already expanded its legs to Italy and USA. Now the company has announced its plans of extending to the Netherlands, as a part of global expansion.

DAZN in Amsterdam

The startup will open a brand new office in Amsterdam, which will try to capture more global users for the company and DAZN app. Their services allow users to watch sports streaming on their way. DAZN offer 1 month of free subscription to the new users. DAZN team has an ambitious plan to capture 20 countries all around the world by the end of 2022, including sports fans from Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Italy, and the USA.

It seems like, DAZN will create around 300 jobs by the year 2022. Financial investment from DAZN is going to be helpful for many youths. Drastical roles, including software engineer, app developers, website management service, and scrum masters are already available.

Ben Lavender, Chief Product Officer at DAZN will reveal more details about the company’s significant financial investment to establish a development center in the Netherlands during his keynote speech at the SVG Sports Production Summit in Amsterdam.

Global Services of DAZN

No doubt, the new development center will play a very crucial role in the global services of DAZN, as this will be the home to the R&D team. Now DAZN, have a direct competition with tech companies like Amazon, Viacom, Netflix, and Booking.com.

Florian Diederichsen, Chief Technology Officer DAZN, said: “We are already live in seven countries across three continents and have software developers creating a market leading product in the UK, Poland and now the Netherlands. The new development center is an important milestone in DAZN’s journey to become the world’s biggest sports broadcaster, with the best sports streaming product in the market.”

Ben Lavender added: “The global sports industry is ripe for disruption and DAZN is leading the change. The ability to hire world-class software engineers, development managers and scrum masters at a speed that can match the pace of our growth is essential to our business. We looked at several global locations, but nothing came close to Amsterdam for its infrastructure and the ability to attract the best global tech talent.”
