Copenhagen-based Lun, a climate tech startup, announced on Thursday, March 23, that it has raised €10.3M in a Seed round of funding from new investors Norrsken VC, Partech, Lowercarbon Capital, and MCJ Collective, as well as existing investor Foundamental.

Lun says it will use the funds to expand its operation to new countries and further facilitate the decarbonisation of homes.

“We’re in a race against time to drastically reduce our emissions, and we know from installers and retrofit specialists that they can’t meet the increasing interest from consumers,” says Martin Collignon, co-founder and CEO of Lun.

“We provide them the tools so they can focus on what they’re good at, making it possible for them to start or grow their business, for the benefit of citizens, our planet, and their wallet.”

Lun: Decarbonising homes

Lun was founded in 2022 in Copenhagen, Denmark, by Martin Collignon and Anders Valentin.

Martin Collignon, a former Google and Uber employee, is a climate activist, while Anders Valentin previously co-founded Undo, the largest insurtech company in Denmark.

- A message from our partner -

The Danish company develops softwares that makes decarbonising homes easy.

Lun aims to empower tradespeople and the entire value chain with tools that make retrofitting the most attractive path for both business and the planet.

Lun’s alpha is currently live in Denmark and focusing on proving how it can drive significant

efficiency and quality gains for small and large partner companies.

“Changing the way we consume energy in our homes should be a top priority for everyone for many different reasons: climate, health, and economic well-being. We were impressed by Lun’s speed of execution and excited to be supporting them on their journey,” says Agate Freimane of Norrsken VC.

What the other investors say

“Getting off the gas for heat isn’t just critical for the climate, if you live in Europe it’s the patriotic thing to do, and Lun is the cheapest, fastest, and easiest way to get an electric heat pump installed,” says Chris Sacca, founder of Lowercarbon Capital.

“Electrifying buildings are top of mind. The 1# bottleneck is making more installer time available. Martin and Anders have cracked that code with their software,” says Patric Hellermann of Foundamental.

“It’s rare to find an A+ team with incredible ambition, coupled with impeccable timing. The level of talent they have been adding to the company in the last 4 months speaks for itself about how well they are positioned to be the operating system of the energy retrofit tsunami across Europe,” says Romain Lavault of Partech.
