Tallinn-based Damage Media Group acquires EsportsHeadlines.com to expand its presence in publishing sector

Damage Media Group (DMG), a Tallinn-based independent digital publishing house, announced on Monday that it has acquired EsportsHeadlines.com, a digital magazine known for its coverage of competitive gaming topics through news articles, guides, tutorials, and reviews. The financial value of the acquisition was not disclosed. 

EsportsHeadlines.com marks the fourth acquisition of Damage Media Group. The announcement comes two months after acquiring GamerHeadlines.com in March, 2020. In April, 2021,  the company had acquired PrinterHeadlines.com, and then acquired CasinoHeadlines.com in November, 2021. 

Post the current acquisition, the domain and its associated content assets will join the DMG group of sites and continue operating under its current name. 

Statista’s report reveals the global esports market acquired a value of over $1.08B in 2021, up almost 50 per cent from the previous year. The industry’s colossal growth isn’t dampening anytime soon, especially since the market’s revenue is forecasted to reach $1.62B in 2024. 

Based on the potential of the esports sector, EsportsHeadlines.com is strategically angled for exponential growth and upscaling in the coming years, says DMG.

Launched in August 2016, the site focused on popular titles initially, including Titanfall, Runescape, Arma, Unreal Tournament, and similar games that opened up the esports landscape. 

Later, the platform remodelled its esports news category and now focuses on the most popular titles, including CS: GO, Fortnite, LoL, Overwatch, Apex Legends, DotA 2, and others.

The esports website operates on the latest version of WordPress with a modern look attributed to the modified Soledad Magazine theme, a premium digital magazine layout optimised across all devices.
