Last update:

Recently, Deloitte announced ten Dutch scale-ups that are nominated for the Rising Star Award; a special category in Deloitte’s Fast50 competition that recognizes companies who show rapid growth and have big ideas. The ten nominees will fight for the title of Rising Star or Most Disruptive innovator at the award ceremony on the 13th of October, where they will pitch their companies future and core business to a live audience.

Dutch scale-ups changing the future

Deloitte organizes the Fast50 award program with partners ABN AMRO, Netsuit, Euronext and others. The special Rising Star award for the most promising and disruptive startups in the tech sector focuses on companies that were founded only four years ago and that show impressive (revenue) growth since their launch. According to Deloitte, these are the companies that will play a big part in changing the future of tech. The awards aren’t just empty praise: nominations are based on actual revenue and growth numbers from the books. And if somebody knows money, its Deloitte.

EclecticIQ

One of the nominees is EclectiqIQ, a startup that specializes in IT security and Cyber Intelligence. In others words: they make sure your confidential and private information doesn’t turn up in the wrong hands. The company is a prime example of rapid growth: since their launch they participated in NATO’s Cyber Security Incubator, raised 5.5 million euro’s in funding and hold offices in Amsterdam, London and ChiÈ™inău.

Media Distillery

Another serious contender for the Rising Star Award is Media Distillery. One of the more prominent Dutch scale-ups could best be described as the Google for radio and television. Media Distillery has only been active since 2014, but has become the dominant player in the market with state-of-the-art data mining techniques such as speech, logo and face recognition. The service is populair with big media monitoring companies such as Lexis Nexis, Buzzcapture and Coosto, which uses the platform to inform their clients (like T-Mobile, McDonalds’s and Specsavers) when and how they receive media attention and brand mentions. Earlier in june, Media Distillery received over half a million euro’s in funding from Dutch venture capital funds Peak Capital and Vortex Capital Partners.

HelloPrint

This Rotterdam-based company is one of the fastest growing startups in the Dutch online printing sector. Back in July, they received three million euro’s in funding from several tech investors. The organization has grown by 3000% in the past three years and is expected to achieve revenues of approximately 30 million euros in 2016. At the beginning of this year, the company was nominated as the second fastest-growing e-commerce company in the Netherlands.
